It is a policy at Meadowbanks to ensure that all residents are provided with the opportunity to engage and participate in activity which is purposeful and meaningful, in a supportive and caring environment. the aim is to improve the Residents level of independence, maximise their functional ability, confidence and self-worth. All staff have a responsibility to participate in and support the delivery of activities within the Home.
We have an Activity Co-ordinator who is responsible for co-ordinating a variety of activities which meets the needs and requirements of Residents and accommodates for individual tastes and interest. Relatives, friends and the local community is encouraged to participate in the Meadowbanks activities as appropriate.
The Activity Co-ordinator spends time with each Resident to identify their requirements in relation to activities. Residents are encouraged to maintain previous hobbies and with assistance facilitate new interests.
